About the Assistant Conductor
Michele DiLuzio was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved with her family to Spring Hill in 1971.

Michele's musical career began at age 10 when she taught herself how to read music and play the trumpet.  Over the years, Michele has played in various groups, and has taught music theory and private lessons.  Michele is currently the trumpeter for Milo's Dixie Band, and has been the Principal Trumpeter with the Hernando Symphony Orchestra since its beginning in 1982.

Michele was the Assistant Choir Director for the Contemporary Choirs at St. Joan of Arc and St. Frances Cabrini Churches.  Michele is the founder and conductor of the Bells of St. Frances, a three-octave handbell choir, and director and trumpeter for the Cabrini Brass at St. Frances Cabrini Church.

Michele began composing and arranging music in 1994, and is a published composer of handbell music.  In addition, Michele has also written choral, instrumental, and orchestral music.  Michele is an active member of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians.  Michele has been employed with the Hernando County School System since 1982.

Michele wishes to thank the musicians, and the Governing Board of the Hernando Symphony Orchestra for the opportunity to work with them as their Assistant Conductor for a seventh season.
